Sitting rooftop is one of my all time favorite things to do!  There’s just something about sitting outside, with friends, sippin’ on a glass of wine/cocktail that just fills my cup up.  Out of all of the cities that I’ve traveled to, Savannah has by a long shot, the best rooftop bars.  There are so many to choose from, each with their own unique view, cocktails and food menu. I’ve rounded up my favorites below!

THE PEREGRINE | THE PERRY LANE HOTEL

The Peregrine is a trendy outdoor rooftop lounge is located atop the Perry Lane Hotel.  The Peregrine has one of the prettiest views of the city and has a wide variety of seating at the bar, tables along their artificial turf section and along the roof line with again, amazing views of the city! I love grabbing a drink and appetizer on the rooftop and then making my way to the restaurant located in the bottom of the Perry Lane, The Emporium Kitchen and Wine Market.  I’ve eaten here several times and it never disappoints! The Peregrine is also a fund spot at night sitting fireside – it’s by far one of my favorite rooftops in the city and one that I always take guests when they are in town.

THE GROVE

Popsicle cocktails, need I say more? The Grove is a rooftop bar/restaurant is located in City Market and has a great view of the market area.  The location is also ideal for city-market bar/restaurant hopping.  The Grove also has a weekly happy hour Monday through Friday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. and includes 50% off champagne and wine by the glass, $2 off house made cocktails, $1 off Southbound Brewing beers and $2 off appetizers. I enjoy coming down during the week for a mid-week pick-me-up to take advantage of their happy hour specials! On the weekends, you can usually find live music on one of their levels (yes, they have multiple bars and seating throughout the building!). They also have a great brunch menu – more on that soon!

PERCH | LOCAL 11 TEN

Another one of my favorite outdoor hang out spots is Local11Ten.  They have a small rooftop, The Perch, which is the perfect spot for drinks before you make your way downstairs for dinner.

THE LOST SQUARE | THE ALIDA

The Lost Square is located atop The Alida Hotel and is situated near the new Plant Riverside District (which I love!). The Lost Square is also home to one of my favorite views of the city (of the river), has a fireplace and cozy couches/seating – the perfect spot for fall/winter and just all year round.  They have a small bites menu on the rooftop which is a great option for a light dinner + drinks or a precursor to dinner.  Right now, they have a Mean Girls inspired menu and it is so g o o d.  They’re also playing the movie on Wednesdays (because on Wednesday’s we wear pink).  The restaurant in the bottom of the Alida (Rhett) is also great and would be a good option for lunch/dinner!

MYRTLE & ROSE | PLANT RIVERSIDE

Myrtle & Rose is one of Savannah’s newest rooftop bars with a floral, garden theme (it’s dreamy!). It’s located in the Plant Riverside District with amazing views of the river.  It’s also centrally located to so many other fun spots and they have a wide range of cocktails and appetizers to choose from (the hummus appetizer is a must!). Seating is limited on this rooftop so make sure you get there early to secure your spot for the night! If you’re a brunch lover like myself, Myrtle & Rose has a Sunday Brunch from 11-3 and I’ve heard it’s really good – it’s on my list to try next!

ELECTRIC MOON | PLANT RIVERSIDE

Savannah locals have named the Electric Moon Skytop Lounge and Moon Deck “Savannah’s Adult Playground” and it’s just that and more! The Moon Deck has a slide, cornhole and other fun outdoor games, including a television at the bar for the sports lovers.  The Electric Moon Lounge has a combination of indoor and outdoor seating with views of the river and is located in the Plant Riverside District. I recommend stopping by during the day and at night – both are unique AND a bonus at night is they have light up bulbs you can drink out of!

TOP DECK | COTTON SAIL HOTEL

The Top Deck is located in the Cotton Sail Hotel on River Street.  Their menu is filled with a good selection of small plates and fun cocktails. I have been several times to watch the fire works on the 4th of July as it has some of the best views of the river + bridge. It’s also a fun spot at night and they usually have a DJ or music playing.

ROCKS ON THE ROOF | THE BOHEMIAN

Also located on River Street, Rocks on the Roof is located in the boutique hotel, The Bohemian (which I’ve been dying to stay at!).  It has great views of the city and is a fun hang out spot. The Bohemian has a restaurant in the bottom of the hotel which is also a good spot for dinner, appetizers or drinks – Rocks on the River.

THE DRAYTON HOTEL

The Drayton’s rooftop has views of City Hall and the Savannah River and offers a quaint rooftop for drinks after work or before dinner for incredible sunset views! The restaurant downstairs, Saint Neo’s Brasserie, is also a great spot for dinner or to get drinks at the bar! It’s also centrally located to several of my favorite restaurants and bars right on Bay Street.

SORRY CHARLIES

Sorry Charlies is located in City Market just steps away from The Grove.  They not only have a rooftop, but a bamboo room and bottom level that has a bar.  If you’re an oyster lover, Sorry Charlies is the premier oyster bar in the city – serving local seafood as well.  Their happy hour is from 4-6 and is a great spot to bring seafood loving out of town guests!

You really can’t go wrong with any of the rooftops in Savannah – they all have their own unique views, great cocktails and small plates! More Savannah guides are in the works, but in the meantime, feel free to leave any questions you have about Savannah in the comments section (or reach out to me personally; I’d love to hear from you!).

xo,

As a kid, my family went to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, Tennessee in the fall to visit family.  I love the area and hadn’t been in 10+ years.  Needless to say, I was very excited to get the opportunity to head to the Great Smokey Mountains and stay at the Margaritaville Island Resort in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

The resort is centrally located in the Island entertainment complex where you are just a short walk to restaurants, shopping and endless amounts of fun and entertainment! There’s absolutely no shortage of things to do around the resort – all within walking distance (I mean, how nice to not have to get in your car to go anywhere!).

Margaritaville has a wide range of rooms and suites (with fireplaces!) with fountain, village and river views!  Our room faced the fountain and we had everything to make a margarita waiting for us in the room.  Take one guess as to what we did first (made margaritas of course!).  We settled in and sat on the patio to enjoy our drink and watch the fountain show.  Every ½ hour, the Island has a choreographed, multi-tier fountain show (a combination of water, music and light) so we sat and watched one before we went out to walk around and find a dinner spot.

We went to explore the Island and ended up at Timberwood Grill for drinks and an appetizer.  The bartender there made the most amazing strawberry daiquiri – so good that I had two! After we ate, we went to grab our tickets to ride some rides.  The entertainment at the island is for all ages and is definitely a great vacation spot for families! The Island has an arcade center, a ropes course, a ferris wheel, an escape room and more! A complete list of the entertainment at the Island is linked here. We rode a couple of rides and then ended the night on the ferris wheel which was so magical at night.  Everyone at the resort and throughout the island made sure we were all safe – they disinfected each ride/attraction after every use which made me feel very comfortable partaking in all of the fun activities they had to offer!

We started our first full day with coffee from the coffee shop in the hotel and made a pitstop by Cinnabon – again, no shortage of places to eat around the hotel.  A link to the complete list of the restaurants is here. After walking around a bit, we made our way to the Rockytop Mountain Coaster.  I love thrill rides so I was most excited about this roller coaster which was less than 10 minutes from Margaritaville. It’s the longest coaster in East Tennessee with over 9 minutes of twists, turns and tunnels.  We went during the day, but I know that a night ride would be so much fun! Tickets range from $18-$5 per ride based on age and it was such a fun day activity!

Since we were in the mountains, we wanted to go hiking and had heard great things about Clingman’s Dome which is the highest point in Tennessee.  Clingman’s Dome is about an hour from Pigeon Forge and about a 20 degree difference in temperature so make sure that you dress appropriately! The walk up to the observation tower is a steep 1/2 mile paved trail (rather hard after hiking 3 miles prior!).  It wasn’t as clear when we went, but the views were still spectacular and the air was crisp and cool!  Although the observation tower is open year round, the road leading to it is closed from December 1 through April 1 so make sure you keep that in mind if you plan to visit anytime soon.

After making our way back to Margaritaville, we showered, grabbed a quick bit to eat and then went by the Ole Smokey Distillery for a tasting.  We went home with a jar of the Java Moonshine which was amazing and came recommended by a co-worker.

We left with full bellies the next day after brunch at Paula Deans Family Kitchen.  Their breakfast is served family style and I wouldn’t leave without trying the breakfast casserole and ooey gooey butter pancakes! They stop serving breakfast at 10:15 a.m., so make sure you get there on time – we didn’t make it the first day we were there, but made sure to get their on time on our last morning! We had the best little weekend getaway with the Margaritaville Island Hotel and can’t wait to visit again!

XO!
